Subaru vehicle history
Outbacks and Foresters are bought for the all-wheel drive and kept for the long haul. The report shows whether head gaskets, the CVT, and the oil were part of that haul.

The file
Subaru’s reputation is real on cars that had their fluids changed. Older EJ engines, some oil-burning FB fours, and CVT fluid intervals are the specifics a listing will skip. The VIN file is where those jobs either happened or did not.
Enter the VIN or the plate. You get ownership, accidents, service records that shops and DMVs filed, title brands, odometer checks, open recalls, and a theft screen. If a source has nothing, the report says so.
Already own it and need a drivetrain part? Shop Subaru parts.
Models
The lookup is the same. The reason you run it changes with the model.
The default used Subaru. Head gaskets on older ones, CVT on newer.
Same questions, plus how hard it was used.
Newer. CVT service and accidents.
Commuter. Oil use on some FB engines.
Mods and accidents. Title and owner count first.
Buying guide
Head gaskets already done on older EJ cars
A recorded gasket job on a late-2000s Outback or Forester, with service after it.
CVT fluid services
On Lineartronic cars, fluid changes in the file. Subaru’s “lifetime” language is not a maintenance plan.
Oil changes that are boring and frequent
Every 5,000–6,000 miles, from one shop. That is the Subaru you want.
Oil consumption visits
Several top-off or consumption complaints on an FB engine are the pattern, not a single bad quart.
No CVT service past 80,000 miles
A blank transmission line on a high-mile Outback or Forester is a future replacement risk.
WRX with an accident and a short owner list
Assume it was driven hard and verify the frame. The report starts that conversation.
Read the file in this order.
Known issues
These are patterns buyers run into. They are not a verdict on every car. The report shows what was filed. A shop still has to see the rest.
Many naturally aspirated Subarus from the mid-2000s into the early 2010s seep or fail head gaskets.
Certain 2011–2014 Forester, Impreza, and Crosstrek engines used oil between changes. Subaru extended coverage on some.
Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Impreza CVTs last longer when the fluid is changed.
How it works
01
The VIN is on the dash (driver’s side), the driver’s door jamb, or the title. A plate works with the state that issued it.
02
One report, a pack of five, or a monthly plan for dealers. We confirm the vehicle and send a secure payment link.
03
The report lands by email and stays online so you can review, download, or print it while you’re standing next to the car.

It can show fluid service and prior replacement. It cannot guarantee the unit. Drive it, and treat a missing fluid line as maintenance you still owe.
Reported ones, including airbags and structural notes. Unreported track or parking damage will not be there.
